Blow-up and transverse mass of submanifolds in the Heisenberg group
Abstract.
Aim of this talk is to present an explicit formula for the spherical
Hausdorff measure of submanifolds of arbitrary dimension in the
Heisenberg group. This formula is obtained by a blow-up procedure with
respect to the anisotropic dilations of the group and it suggests a
privileged class of left invariant forms in the Heisenberg group.
These forms allow us to introduce a reasonable notion of mass for
currents in the Heisenberg group, which fits the well known theory
in codimension one. A discussion of this notion and some remarks are
added.
