Fee


The full conference fee is 550 Euros and covers accomodation, full board during the conference including conference dinner and the registration fee of 50 Euros (which covers conference materials, transportation from and to Poznan and an excursion). However, participants invited officially by the Banach Center will be charged only 300 Euros. The rest will be covered by the Banach Center.

Grants


The EMS Conference has obtained funds from the European Commission to provide grants to its young participants. The Conference intends to provide some grants which may cover the acommodation expenses and, possibly, the travel expenses. The total number of grants and their amounts depend on the final funding of the event. The Conference expects to receive financial support to cover the full conference fee for 10 participants within Group 1, 20 participants within the Group 2 and 7 participants within the group 3 (see below for definitions). We also hope to be able to cover travel expences for participants from these Groups.
Deadline for applications is May 31.
The EMS Conference has also obtained funds from the UNESCO Office in Venice- Regional Bureau for Science in Europe (ROSTE) to provide grants to young East-European participants (up to 35 years).
Deadline for applications for UNESCO-ROSTE grants is May 8.

Grants will be approved, according to the available budget, taking into consideration the following issues:

Applicants for the grants will be notified of the decission on their application by e-mail and they should, therefore, provide an e-mail address at which they can be contacted.


The deadline to apply for a grant finishes on May 31.

Approval of grants will be decided before June 15.


Event participant Group 1:
means an event participant attending the event for training purposes, who is, at the time of his/her attendance, in the first 4 years (full-time equivalent) of his/her research activity, including the period of research training, since gaining a university degree giving access to doctoral studies in the country, in which the degree was obtained and who has not yet obtained a doctoral degree. Under this group, the event participant must be a national of a Member State or an Associated State and he/she must possess a degree/diploma giving access to embark on a doctorate in the country where it was awarded..

Event participant Group 2:
means an event participant attending the event for training purposes, who, at the time of his/her attendance, has at least 4 years and less than 10 years reaserch experience (full-time equivalent), since gaining a university degree giving access to doctoral studies in the country, in which the degree was obtained, or is already in possesion of a doctoral degree. Under this group, the event participant must be a national of a Member State or an Associated State.

Event participant Group 3:
means an event participant attending the event for contact purposes, who has, at the time of his/her attendance, more than 10 years of research experience (full-time equivalent), since gaining a university degree giving access to doctoral studies in the country, in which the degree was obtained. Under this group, the event participant must be a national of a Member State or an Associated State and be active in research outside the Member States and Associated States at the time of the event.
