Ergodic Methods in Dynamics

Ergodic Methods in Dynamics

23 - 27 April, 2012, Będlewo

The conference was organized by the Stefan Banach International Mathematical Center and the Institute of Mathematics of the University of Warsaw.

The purpose of the conference was to gather leading experts in the area, together with junior researchers, and to bring the opportunity to present recent development and new applications of the ergodic methods not only in Dynamical Systems, but also in a wide area of modern Analysis. The subject matter of the talks presented during the conference covered a wide spectrum of topics related to ergodic theory of dynamical systems in such areas as abstract ergodic theory, topological dynamics, dynamics on smooth manifolds, iteration of holomorphic maps on the complex plane, interval maps, iterated function systems and fractal geometry, group actions, qualitative theory of differential equations. The conference gathered not only many world-known researches from various countries, but also a large number of young mathematicians and PhD students.

Feliks Przytycki's 60th birthday

During the conference a special scientific session was organized to celebrate the 60th birthday of Prof. Feliks Przytycki, the director of the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, who is a world-known expert in the area of the ergodic theory of dynamical systems and one of the leaders of Dynamical Systems in Poland for over 30 years.
