Abstract: A systematic study of q-deformation of semidirect products of locally compact groups, namely C*-quantum groups with projection, in the framework of multiplicative unitaries give rise to the concept of braided multiplicative unitaries, generalizing standard ones. Quantum ax+b, az+b, E(2) due to Woronowicz, are examples of C*-quantum group with projection. In order to construct their respective multiplicative unitaries, Woronowicz used quantum exponential functions as an important tool. Moreover, in these examples quotient, which is again a locally compact quantum group, always correspond to a locally compact group and quantum exponential functions play the role of braided multiplicative unitaries. The goal of this collaboration is to explore whether quantum exponential functions arise naturally whenever the quotients of C*-quantum groups with projections is a locally compact group.
