Institute of Mathematics
of the Polish Academy of Sciences
announces an open call
for temporary positions for young mathematicians

The Institute offers several 1/2 – 2 year postdoc positions starting in the academic year 2009/2010. The condition for candidates to be eligible is to have PhD in mathematics obtained not earlier than in 2007, and to be born not earlier than in 1977 (justified exceptions are possible). Candidates without PhD are also eligible, provided their PhD is almost finished. In such a case a detailed opinion of the candidate's supervisor is necessary. The candidate should write in the application with whom or under whose guidance, he/she plans to work at the Institute.

Applications are expected to contain a research/organizational programme, CV, list of publications, reprints/preprints of papers, published or accepted for publication, and two recommendation letters. Applications should be submitted by May 21, 2009, to the address

The recommendation of the Evaluation Committee and the decision of the Director will be taken in the middle of June, and the candidates will be informed by mail soon after.
