Commission on Applications of Mathematics of the Committee of Mathematics

Commission on Applications of Mathematics of the Committee of Mathematics operates on the basis of the Regulations Committee of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in terms of tasks and objectives concerning widely understood applications of Mathematics. 

The scope of work of the Applications Commission (KM PAN)

  1. The assessment of the program of studies associated with the applications of Mathematics; introducing to the program of studies specializations from different branches of the applications of Mathematics, including Mathematics in industry, insurances, economic sciences, popularizing and promoting the applications of Mathematics in society.
  2. Participation and supervision over the Conference on the Applications of Mathematics held each year in Zakopane.
  3. Integration of circles engaged in the applications of Mathematics. Organisation of the information exchange between different centers involved in the applications of Mathematics.
  4. Cooperation with international associations involved in the applications of Mathematics: ECMI, ICIAM, Applications Commission EMS, ERCIM, IFIP, INFORMS and others.
