Title: Rank 3 representations of quasi-projective fundamental groups


Abstract: 
I will talk about characterizations of motivic representations of fundamental groups of quasi-projective varieties, 
i.e., coming from families of algebraic varieties. I will give a general overview of what is known on the subject 
and then I will sketch some ideas showing that rigid integral rank 3 representations are motivic.
