Title: Stability of degree along semi-algebraic families

Abstract: 
The degree of real polynomial is one of its most simplest features. 
This notion can be extended to restriction of polynomials to non-compact 
subsets. This restricted degree provides a filtration of the polynomial 
algebra which is little understood. I would like to discuss here, given a 
family of basic fat semi-algebraic subsets, the problem of the local 
constancy (in the parameters) of the corresponding restricted degree.
