Here are some my thoughts about Euro. Euro in economy is like the language Esperanto. This language was invented by a wise man Ludwik Zamenhof. He knew many languages and he knew a lot about a proper structure of a language. But Esperanto does not work as a common language because it is an artificial language; it is not a language of life. The same will happen to the currency "Euro". This is an artificial currency. A true money must express some concrete economy. Euro, as it was created by "wise" European economists, is an abstract currency which should unify different economies: for example that of Germany with that of Greece. If Euro is a manifestation of some true economy, then this economy must be the German one (and, up some extent, the French one). The upshot is that Euro is, in fact, a new incarnation of the German Mark, forcing other countries (like e.g. Greece) to have the economy isomorphic to that of Germany. And this leads to an absurd! Euro, like Esperanto, has no chance to be a universal currency for Europe, because the economies of different countries are very different. And the currency must be coherent with the economic reality. The invention of Euro will be, in fact, a source of many economic crises. I hope that Poland will analyze profoundly if Euro should be the Polish currency. We should greatly contribute to the cultural and scientific contacts with members of EU. We should, however, protect our economy and, in particular, our currency. We should keep a proper distance with EU in these matters. Even England, with much stronger economy than ours, proceeds in this way.
