Geometric Topology - Celebrating the Year of Mathematics in Poland 08.09.2019 - 14.09.2019 | Warsaw
The aim of the conference is to foster and expand collaboration between Polish researchers and our colleagues in Europe, USA and Japan. We will be looking for new trends and directions in geometric topology.
The conference will be held at the Banach Center of the Mathematics Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences (Śniadeckich 8 street, Warsaw), Sept.8-14, 2019. The main scientific activity will be concentrated during the dates of Sept.9-12 (the lectures will begin on Sept. 9, and Sept. 8 will be the arrival day to Warsaw).
Several aspects of geometric topology will be covered: interacting with algebraic topology, coarse geometry and geometric group theory, functional analysis, and dynamical systems.
Topics will include, but not be restricted to, dimension theory, asymptotic dimension, large scale spaces, extension theorems, covering spaces and fibrations, homotopy and shape theory, Vietoris-Cech-Rips homology, coarse shape, retracts, embeddings, topological groups, profinite groups, group actions, topological entropy, mixing, attractors, fractals, Hausdorff measure, fixed points, infinite dimensional topology, and game theory. Interactions with applications will be encouraged as well.
