Nagroda Instytutu Matematycznego PAN za wybitne osiągnięcia naukowe w zakresie matematyki
Uroczyste wręczenie Nagrody Naukowej IM PAN odbyło się dnia 23 czerwca 2016 r.
Laureatem nagrody w 2016 r. został prof. dr hab. Krzysztof Oleszkiewicz z Wydziału Matematyki, Informatyki i Mechaniki Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego za wybitne osiągnięcia w teorii prawdopodobieństwa i jej zastosowaniach.
Laureat Nagrody wygłosił referat:
On some moment and tail estimates for Rademacher sums.
Abstract: A number of results will be discussed, concerning Rademacher sums, i.e. sums of independent symmetric two-point random variables with real or vector coefficients. Their study dates back about three centuries but the lecture will be devoted mostly to some modern moment and tail bounds, including the classical Khinchine inequality and its various extensions.
