Gauge theories and singular reduction

Abstract: I will give an elementary introduction into symplectic reduction of Hamiltonian systems endowed with Hamiltonian Lie group actions. As an application, I will formulate gauge theory (on a finite lattice) as a Hamiltonian system with symmetry and discuss its reduction.
