Rules of financing the Banach Center conferences,
schools, research groups etc. for 2015
- The support for conferences, workshops and schools accepted by the
International Scientific Council of the Banach Center and taking place in
Warsaw consists in free accommodation of part of
participants in guest rooms of IMPAN or - in case of insufficient place at
the Institute - in other hotels chosen by the BC for participants from
outside Warsaw, and in some cases in granting per diem to the foreign invited
speakers. The financing value of the event is
related to its scientific level evaluation done by the International
Scientific Council of the Banach Center. At disposal of participants and
organizers there are lecture rooms of the Banach Center and wireless Internet
connection.
- The remaining conferences, workshops and schools,
take place in Będlewo (with singular exceptions). They are supported
relatively to its scientific value decided annually
by the International Scientific Council.
The organizers are kindly requested to reserve hotel rooms in sufficient
advance and to inform the Banach Center and the staff in Będlewo about
substantial changes in the number of participants in comparison with the
number already announced.
The settlement of the above financing support will be based on daily lists
of stays, confirmed by
the Będlewo Center or another center hosting the conference. The organizers
should submit the financial and scientific reports to the Banach Center
within 30 days after the end of the supported event.
Currently up to about 120 participants can be accommodated in the Będlewo
complex. We also offer 3 lecture rooms with appropriate equipment
(blackboards, projectors etc.), poster facilities, and Internet connection.
A nice park surrounds the complex. The Center can provide additional service
(like organizing transportation, banquets, bonfires, excursions etc.).
The Banach Center does not cover, in principle, other expenses related to
the conferences, schools and workshops (in particular, travel
expenses). They should be covered from other sources (additional support,
conference fees, etc.).
The only exception are events organized in
other formats
for which the support is negotiated in each case separately.
- Support for research groups, mini-workshops and other events
with the number of participants not exceeding 20, depends on the individual
decision of the Chairman of the BC, and is based on the scientific level
of the event,
realistically justified costs, and the financial abilities of the BC.
The above rules serve for the year 2015 only and their prolongation will depend on the budget of IMPAN in 2016 and will be decided at the beginning of 2016.
