Beyond Uniform Hyperbolicity

23.04.2023 - 05.05.2023 | Będlewo

This meeting (school and conference) will be hosted by the Mathematical Research and Conference Center in Będlewo, from April 23th to May 6th 2023, focusing on the global qualitative study (topological and ergodic) of differentiable dynamical systems. A main focus is on disseminating new results, attracting promising junior researchers and graduate students and training researchers. This meeting will also federate and stimulate the research of several groups of mathematicians working in several countries (France, Brazil, China, USA, Poland and others). It belongs to a series of successful conferences which have been organized since 2001 in Evanston (2001), Buzios (2003), Chicago (2006), Beijing (2009), Luminy (2011), Będlewo (2013), Olmué (2015), Provo (2017) and Luminy (2019) (see also Amie Wilkinson's website). They have been instrumental for collaborations among the participants, furthering the subject and leading to new connections between its different aspects.

The topics covered by the current meeting will include:

  • Weak hyperbolicity : Partial hyperbolicity, Nonuniform hyperbolicity, Singular hyperbolicity, Dominated splitting, Lyapunov exponents,...
  • Bifurcations : homoclinic tangencies, heterodimensional cycles,...
  • Typical phenomena : robustness, genericity, prevalence,...
  • Physical (and Sinaï-Ruelle-Bowen) measures,...
  • Geometric description of the systems : dimension, topological classification,...
  • Statistical properties : decay of correlations, limit theorems,...
  • Symbolic extensions, entropy, coding,...
  • Connections beyond hyperbolicity : foliations, group actions, rigidity,...

Registration for the school and the conference is closed.

This conference is a part of the Simons Semester Topological, smooth and holomorphic dynamics, ergodic theory, fractals, 01.03.2023 - 30.06.2023, Warsaw & Będlewo.
