On 27 March 2026, the annual meeting of the College of Deans and Directors of Mathematical Units (KDDM) authorized to confer habilitation degrees was held at the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The program of the meeting included a discussion on the completed preparations for the evaluation of the quality of scientific activity of research units, as well as a discussion on the situation of mathematics.
The Chair of the Committee for the Evaluation of Scientific Units, Prof. Zbigniew Kąkol, delivered a presentation entitled “Evaluation: Today and Tomorrow.” The participants also discussed the procedure for creating a new journal ranking list, the situation of mathematics faculties at universities, and the impact of evaluation rules on the assessment of academic staff.
