During the IM PAN Colloquium on 27 May 2026, the Institute of Mathematics PAS Prize for outstanding scientific achievements in mathematics was formally presented. This year’s laureate is Dr Mikołaj Frączyk, Professor at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków.

The Jury awarded the Prize for outstanding achievements in the geometry and topology of locally symmetric spaces, in particular for breakthrough results concerning their global structure.

The ceremony was accompanied by a lecture delivered by the Laureate. The event provided an opportunity to honour Dr Mikołaj Frączyk’s achievements and to highlight the significance of his results for contemporary research in geometry and topology.
