A reformulated strong multiplicity one theorem

Hui Xue Acta Arithmetica MSC: Primary 11F55; Secondary 11F67 DOI: 10.4064/aa260117-25-5 Published online: 3 July 2026

Abstract

We present a reformulated strong multiplicity one result for automorphic representations of ${\rm GL}_{n}$. We also prove a reformulated strong multiplicity one theorem with a certain density condition for ${\rm GL}_{2}$. Finally, we apply the first of these theorems to study the linear independence of central values of Rankin–Selberg convolutions on ${\rm GL}_{2}$.
