Abstract
We investigate the symbolic dynamics for the double standard maps of the circle onto itself, given by $f_{a,b}(x)=2x+a+(b/\pi)\sin(2\pi x)\ {\rm (mod~1)}$, where $b=1$ and $a$ is a real parameter, $0 \leq a <1$.
